Written by a patient at Dr Leaver and Partners
26th October 2014

Dr Leaver is a wonderful GP, whether helping me through cancer treatment, dealing with everyday conditions, or distinguishing more serious from trivial problems without making me feel I have wasted his time. He takes as much time as is needed to talk through an issue, he explains things well, and appointments do not feel rushed. The ability to contact him through email for simple questions is extremely useful; it saves my time and I hope his as well, since sometimes one doesn't need either an appointment or a phone call to get something sorted. I would have no hesitation recommending him. On occasions when I haven't been able to see him I have had good care from other practice members, but I really appreciate continuity of care with a single physician: I feel lucky to be in a practice where this seems to be the principle and I fervently hope it remains this way.

Profile

I was a full time GP from 1996 (reduced to 3/4 time when I became Associate Director of Pre-clinical Studies in 2017) and also involved in teaching medical students since 2000, particularly at Green Templeton College (since 2004) where I am the Senior Doll Tutorial Fellow in charge of the GTC medical teaching programme for about 100 students. As College Doctors to various colleges my practice has particular interests in university students and their medical problems; but students are only 30% of our list and we aim to be good generalists across all areas of medicine. Please also bear in mind there are two separate practices at Jericho HC (I work with Drs O'Shea, Lambert and others), the other practice is 'Observatory medical Practice')- sometimes people have mixed us up. Also we are on the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter (since 2012) adjacent to Walton Street, whereas Googlemaps and indeed this website keep directing people to our old site about 200m away on the corner of Cranham Street.
